DeJohn, an aspiring actor, said that previously she gave an $80 tip for a $40 bill
When DeJohn thanked Schumer then for the generosity, Schumer told her, “I’ve been there, I get it,” the bartender said.
The tip was the biggest the theatre bar staff had received despite Hamilton neing seen by the likes of Beyonce, Jay Z, Kanye West and the First President Michelle Obama.
“I’d like to think if I become that successful, that I can do the same,” DeJohn said. “She’s been one of us. She reminded me that there’s still a lot of good in the world.”
The tip was split up between the six bar staff, all of whom are aspiring actors.
