A MASSIVE brawl took place in a buffet line after a couple became incensed over the amount of crab claws a young man was taking.
The mother of the 21-year-old man who was accused of taking too many crab claws in his $14.49 seafood buffet tried to stop the fight at the Royal Buffet & Grill in thetown of Manchester in the state of Connecticut.
She used pepper spray on the accused Clifford Knight and Lataya Knight after her son had been punched and they were continuing to assault him. He suffered a cut lip and broken front tooth, FOX 61 reported.
Clifford Knight, 46, and 38-year-old Lataya Knight were arrested at the restaurant by the Manchester Police Department.
Clifford Knight is facing third-degree assault and disorderly charges. Lataya Knight is charged with disorderly conduct and threatening.
Clifford Knight was released on $5000 bail and was told to appear in the local court on Thursday, April 14.
Lataya Knight was released on $2500 bail and was also told to appear before court on Thursday, April 14.
Royal Buffet & Grill had to be closed after the incident on Sunday (AEST). Manchester Fire Department were brought in to vent the restaurant after the Health Department closed it down to check out the air due to the use of pepper spray.
Neither the victim nor the victim’s mother will face charges over the incident. Investigators determined the mother used pepper spray in self-defence.
